Jeff Burkland
Jeff Burkland has over 15 years of business experience in both strategic and tactical financial roles, fund raising, operational roles, and leading marketing and product management efforts. Mr. Burkland began his career at AT&T, where he grew a $4.4 million nation-wide business within AT&T by more than 50% per year. Additional key roles include: leading Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 efforts for large- and small-cap telecommunications and financial services clients, extending UTStarcom’s presence outside of China and running tactical segment marketing for the 500-person telecom equipment manufacturer. Mr. Burkland holds a BS in Electrical Engineering/ Economics from Duke University and a MBA from Harvard Business School.
Joe Preis
Joe Preis is founding Green Building Power – a hub of products and management resources for innovative companies and real estate professionals generating green profits from buildings. He has 20+ years of strategic management and finance experience in entrepreneurial ventures in varied industries. As CEO, Mr. Preis successfully grew MetroRent, Inc., an online rental service, and sold it to Cendant Corporation. He was on the management team of Aviva Sport, a toy business, when it was sold to Mattel. Mr. Preis is an active angel investor in the Keiretsu Forum and past president of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization in San Francisco. Mr. Preis holds a BA in Demography from Harvard and a MBA from Stanford.
TOM MORRISON
Tom Morrison formed his first startup 1968, which was a sales and marketing consulting company specializing in consumer products, which sold to Shell Oil in 1973. Mr. Morrison then took the position of CEO at Arcata, where he engineered the buyout of the largest medical records microfilm service bureau in the US. Later, Mr. Morrison held positions of COO at Alani, a healthy fast food business, and CEO at Corporate Sign Systems, which was the largest firm specializing in providing turn-key sign manufacturing and installation services worldwide. Mr. Morrison led both companies to a successful acquisition. Mr. Morrison’s success as a Partner at Phoenix Growth Capital helped build a portfolio of $500M in venture debt with double digit returns. He is an active angel investor and has been a member of Keiretsu Forum since 2006. Mr. Morrison holds degree in Economics from Yale, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
